Kathryn and Sam's wedding was a celebration of intention, of connection and of a deep calm.
Set in the heart of the Stellenbosch vineyards and mountains the day simply unfolded, guests were free to wander the estate at their own pace and really experience it.
As the day progressed my attention was split between the wider setting, the atmosphere of the various gatherings and the more intimate conversations going on within them.
The celebration had a real quiet confidence about it. It was thoughtfully put together without being over the top, it was emotive without being excessive and it was all very much about the people. From the ceremony right through to the evening there was a real sense of presence rather than performance.
I was struck by how all the elements combined: the way people moved through the space, the way they interacted with each other and the way the character of the celebration came through in both the carefully orchestrated details and the unscripted moments.
