My approach is documentary and observational. I work with the day as it unfolds, paying attention to relationships, the character of a place and the details that connect individual moments to the wider celebration. In the final edit, I bring those observations together into a considered visual narrative.

Yes. I have photographed weddings full-time since 2013, working across intimate gatherings and larger celebrations throughout the Western Cape.

I intentionally take on a limited number of weddings each year so that I can give each story my full attention, from the first conversation through to the final edit.
CAPTURING YOUR WEDDING DAY

My presence is calm and unobtrusive. I’ll offer direction when it helps, particularly when a little guidance makes a portrait or transition feel more natural. Otherwise, I work around the day as it unfolds, allowing you to stay connected to the people and experience around you.

Before the wedding, I take time to understand the people, plans and parts of the day that matter most to you. On the day, experience helps me anticipate the flow of events, read the room and respond to moments as they unfold. I work without a rigid shot list, while keeping your priorities in mind.

I recommend a collection based on how your celebration will unfold: its locations, the movement between events, the people involved and the moments you want to give space to. During our consultation, we’ll look at your plans together and I’ll advise on the collection best suited to the occasion as a whole.

For intimate celebrations, I usually photograph alone. For larger weddings or more complex timelines, I may recommend a second photographer where an additional perspective would meaningfully contribute to the story.

Yes. I’m very comfortable working alongside planners, coordinators and videographers, and value a collaborative approach where everyone can do their work without getting in one another’s way.

Yes. 35mm film is part of the way I photograph weddings, alongside digital photography. I use film deliberately and selectively, allowing it to sit naturally within the wider documentary story of the day

Not at all. Most couples aren’t used to being photographed, and my approach is designed to let you remain connected to each other rather than perform for the camera. I’ll guide you when it helps, but the aim is always to make the photographs feel like you rather than a version of you created for the camera.

I’m based in Cape Town and photograph weddings throughout the Western Cape, including the Cape Winelands and Tulbagh Valley. I’m also available for destination weddings when the setting and story feel like the right fit.

Yes. Travel and accommodation are included where needed.
AFTER THE WEDDING

After the wedding, I review the photographs for the moments, gestures, expressions and atmosphere that carry the story forward. I then edit and sequence the images as a complete visual narrative, considering how each photograph relates to the next. The result is a considered gallery rather than a collection of every frame taken.
Full wedding galleries typically contain around 600+ photographs, delivered through a private online gallery.
BOOKING

The first step is to fill out the enquiry form with some details about your day. If I’m available and it feels like we’re a good fit, I’ll be in touch to start a conversation and hear more about your plans. As I take on a limited number of weddings each year, I recommend enquiring once your date is confirmed.

Once we’ve had a chance to talk through your plans and make sure the approach feels right for you, I’ll send through your proposal and booking agreement. A 50% booking fee secures your date, with the remaining balance due four weeks before the wedding.
