LOVE STORY

Ever since I've watched Hayao Miyazaki's Tonari no Totoro, I've wanted to travel to Japan. During my varisty years at Architecture school, Japan was even more engrained in my bucket list once I fell in love with the designs of architect, Toyo Ito. The Japanese approach to design and life in general is inspiring.

You can therefore only imagine my delight when Yuri emailed me. She shared that they are a newlywed couple from Japan, choosing to honeymoon in South Africa and they would love for me to capture some epic memories of them in this beautiful country I call home.

When we started planning this Honeymoon shoot, Yuri and Taishi wanted to combine certain elements to form part of their session. When they are home, they love to brew coffee together, hence we started their session in their AirBnB, brewing coffee and getting to know each other better before heading out for an adventure in the city during sunset.

Yuri also LOVES plants and flowers and it was rather apt that she arranged for a magical bouquet and flower crown by Foraged to compliment her modern wedding dress and Taishi's handmade green suit - Yes he made his own suit!

Here are a few of my favourite frames from our afternoon together. Till we meet again in Japan!
